Cliff Lee & his wife Kristen just recently closed on their brand new condo overlooking Downtown Philadelphia on January 10th. The couple has a permanent home in Arkansas, although since Cliff just signed a 5 year, $120M dollar contract with the Phillies last month, it looks as if the couple thought it would be a good idea for Cliff to have a place to sleep in Philadelphia when he’s pitching this next summer.
The luxury condo is actually estimated to be worth at least $5M and is apart of the newly opened 1706 Rittenhouse Square. It is described to be by far the most exclusive residence in the area. The Rittenhouse Square is a 31 story luxury tower that has a total of 29 units which are all virtually column free space and each floor is one full unit/condo. They come standard with 10 to 20 ft ceilings, floor to ceiling windows which show off the extensive views, top of the line finishes, 4100 square feet of customizable space, and two terraces per unit. Common amenities for these luxury condos include a koi pond, state of the art fitness center, sauna, massage rooms, endless pool, private boardroom and a garden. Some might say however that the best part of these condos is the “Jetsons style” on-site parking space in the fully automated underground garage.
The residents can pull their vehicle into a two-story covered courtyard. From there the vehicle is then driven on top of what is essentially a large elevator where a pallet is waiting for them. The vehicles are moved on tracks that lift and lower the car as well as spin it around and park it. When the owners want to drive their car again and have it returned all they need to do is swipe a programmed card, which can be done in the elevator on their way down from the condo. The system locates the correct vehicle. The car then rises from underground, is spun around into an exit position and is ready to be driven off within a minute of the initial card swipe.
