Former NBA all-star Matt Geiger just recently sold his Mega Mansion. He originally put the home on the market in 2007 for $20M and after 4 years it finally sold for $8M.
Geiger built his bachelor pad in 2002 and included every feature a single guy could ask for. The 28,000 sq-ft home has 6 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, and sits on 28 acres. An immense covered entry-way featuring extremely large doors leads into a foyer with a large dual staircase. Beyond the foyer is the grand living room and kitchen and to the west of the foyer is the extravagant study and library.
The home comes complete with a shark tank, a 330,000 gallon pool with a rock diving cliff, a 5000 sq-ft guesthouse, a putting green, several lavish bars, hot tubs, a DJ booth & dance floor, pizza oven, wine cellar, cigar room, movie theater, spa, tennis & volleyball courts, an outdoor kitchen, 40 TVs… 18 of which were hooked up with XBOX’s, and an artificial lake stocked with 2,500 bass.
Geiger also at one point had a herd of 12 buffalo, 11 Watsui cattle, two donkeys, a miniature horse, and a cow. Plus in 2004 the mega mansion was used as John Travolta’s residence in the movie “The Punisher.”
Geiger and his girlfriend recently had a baby and apparently decided a move into a more family-oriented residence that thought would better suit them. Or maybe Geiger thought it might be a good idea to cut down on his expenses and save a little more money each year, considering the property taxes alone for this palace were up to $177k a year at one point. Although I guess that’s not too bad since Geiger made an estimated $44M during his NBA career with the Miami Heat, Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers from 1992-2002.
