Big Z’s Townhouse On Rental Market For $37,500

Miami Heat center Zydrunas “Big Z” Ilgauskas and his wife Jennifer are trying to rent out their stunning Soho NY townhome for $37,500 a month. The 7-foot-3 big man first put the townhome on the rental market back in Dec. 2010. At the time, his wife said they decided to rent the house out after Ilgauskus signed with the Miami Heat, and they were spending less time in the city. The couple purchased the house for $6.95M in 2006 and would would consider selling it for a minimum of $14M; but since they didn’t feel they can sell it for what its worth, they decided to rent for now.

Ilgauskas’s newly renovated 5 story, 5,000 sq-ft home comes with 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms. The 1st floor has a grand entryway, 17′ ceilings, powder room, elevator, and a family room with double doors that lead to a patio garden.

The 2nd floor has an open kitchen & dining, 15′ ceilings, the dining room has french doors leading to a front balcony, and the kitchen leads out to a rear balcony.

The 3rd floor Master suite has 15′ ceilings, an entire wall of closets, a Swarovski crystal chandelier, and a master bath with a red murano glass chandelier and bissazza tile. The 4th & 5th floors have the additional bedrooms, bathrooms, laundry room, and on top of that is a 1,000 sq-ft European-style rooftop terrace.

Ilgauskas and his wife have added some irreplaceable items in there home such as antique stain glass windows from Argentina, double doors salvaged from a firehouse, an antique french chandelier, Art Deco light fixtures from Paris, a restaurant bar salvaged from Upstate New York, wrought iron balconies from Peru, a train station clock from Paris, a round church window from France, cast iron posts from a landmark building on Central Park West and tile in the kitchen from a chapel on Central Park West.

Big Z has had celebrities like Courtney Love and Sacha Baron Cohen interested in renting his Soho mansion, and in March, it was rented out for $85,000 for two months.
