Phil Mickelson’s House In Rancho Santa Fe,CA

Phil Mickelson, 38-time PGA Tour winner, calls this massive custom built mansion that he and his wife Amy built ‘home sweet home’.  The couple purchased the 4.55 acre lot in Rancho Santa Fe, CA back in June of 1999 for $1.5M, and from there began building their dream home. However, since June of 2007 Mickelson and his wife have actually been trying to sell their home and throughout the process have had some significant price cuts. In 2008 it was listed for $12.225M, it was then reduced to $8.995M in 2010, and in March of 2011 it was reduced again to $7.199M.

Mickelson’s Mediterranean style home is 7,078 sq-ft with 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and has 2 guest homes. It includes magnificent features such as  a 720 sq-ft formal living room with distressed walnut flooring, vaulted wood-beamed ceilings, a hand-carved Cantera-stone fireplace, & wood-framed French doors. The 600 sq-ft kitchen includes commercial grade appliances, slab granite counter tops and custom cabinetry with hardware imported from Romania and France.

The home also comes complete with a cathedral style library that has a hand-carved wooden ceiling, custom-made leaded windows, built-in glass-fronted cabinets, and an adjacent bathroom with imported tile from Morocco. The custom wood beamed ceilings carry into the Master Suite with sitting area, wood burning fireplace, fitness room, two custom-fitted closets, and a steam & sauna room, and Master bath with Calcutta marble flooring and custom mosaics.

If that’s not enough, Mickelson’s home also has a secretly situated safe room in case of intruder, den, media room, wine cellar, exercise space, several other hand carved fireplaces, an outdoor infinity edged swimming pool, large outdoor spa, putting green, an outdoor fireplace that sits next to a hand-carved stone fountain with hand-glazed tile imported from Portugal, and two detached guest homes.
